Info A reminder on how your Preview environment is used

We're writing to share a reminder about your environment entitlement and the intended purpose of each environment type.

What's happening from 1 July 2026

From 1 July, Preview will be used exclusively for Bellrock managed activity. Most customers will see no impact from this whatsoever — it reflects how Preview has always been intended to work and how most customers already use it today.

Your environments

Production Your live environment for day-to-day use. Managed and controlled by you. No configuration testing or experimental changes should be made directly in Production — any untested changes applied here carry a risk of disruption to your live service.

Preview A pre-production environment managed and controlled by Bellrock, included as part of your standard entitlement. Designed to give you early visibility of forthcoming releases so you can test upcoming changes, plan ahead, and manage internal communications and change management before updates reach your live system. Because Preview is managed by Bellrock, it may be overwritten or refreshed at any time and without prior notice as part of our normal support and release activity. For this reason, configuration work must not be carried out in Preview — any changes made here cannot be guaranteed to persist.

Sandbox A pre-production environment managed and controlled by you, available as an optional, separately licensed addition. Sandbox is not updated or refreshed by Bellrock unless you ask us to — it remains in your control. It is designed for experimentation, configuration testing, and integration testing, and is the appropriate and safe environment for any changes you want to develop and validate before they reach Production.

Why we're realigning Preview

The quality and reliability of the service we provide depends on us having a consistent, controlled pre-production environment that we can rely on at all times. When Preview is used for customer configuration work, it creates uncertainty — we can't always be confident about the state of the environment when we need to use it to investigate an issue, test a fix, or validate an upcoming release.

By returning Preview to its intended purpose, we can move faster and with greater confidence when something needs attention. Our Support team will have a known, stable environment to work in when diagnosing and resolving issues, and our Product team will be able to validate updates thoroughly before they reach your live system. The result is fewer surprises in Production, faster resolution times, and a more dependable platform overall.

As part of our ongoing platform improvement and modernisation, the rationalisation of how Preview is used is also necessary to ensure we can bring all customers onto standardised product release versions and release schedules. This is another step in our commitment to providing a stable, consistent, and up-to-date platform that delivers the latest fixes and features to every customer.

By standardising how updates are released, we can ensure changes are better tested, easier to plan for, and delivered more consistently — helping you stay up to date with minimal disruption and greater confidence in the stability of your service.

What does this mean for me?

For most customers, nothing at all. If you don't currently use Preview for configuration or staging work, you can disregard this notice entirely. You'll continue to receive early visibility of upcoming releases through Preview as before, and your Production environment is completely unaffected.

If you are one of a small number of customers who have been using Preview for configuration or staging work, you will need to transition away from this before 1 July. Please speak to your Customer Success Manager at your earliest convenience to discuss your options.

If you have any questions, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
